About This Place

La Lucha Mexican Kitchen, nestled in the heart of Santa Ana, CA, is a delightful haven for lovers of authentic Mexican cuisine. This charming, family-owned restaurant brings a vibrant and flavorful dining experience that truly honors traditional Mexican flavors with a modern touch. From the moment you step inside, the walls adorned with lively Lucha Libre artwork create an inviting, spirited atmosphere that complements the boldness of the menu.

The culinary offerings here shine with freshness and rich, time-honored recipes. Whether you're craving the hearty Carne Asada Plate featuring tender Ranchera meat grilled to perfection and accompanied by savory rice and beans, or the comforting Chicken Enchiladas wrapped in corn tortillas and topped with quesos cotija and crema, every bite feels genuine and satisfying. For those seeking something with a bit more complexity, the Mole Enchiladas deliver a luscious sauce that sings with deep, smoky undertones.

If lighter fare is your preference, the Fajita Salad with crunchy romaine, crispy tortilla strips, and a tangy cilantro ranch dressing offers a refreshing yet indulgent option—offered with your choice of chicken, asada, or shrimp to elevate the dish. And no authentic Mexican meal would be complete without a sweet finish; the Churros, perfectly fried and dusted with cinnamon sugar, provide a warm, crispy, and sweet conclusion.

Feedback from patrons reinforces La Lucha’s status as a local gem. Gabriela Arroyo’s enthusiasm for the cochinita pibil and El Santo tacos captures the essence of the menu’s standout street-style tacos, despite slightly premium pricing, the value is unquestionable. Jimmy Tejeda’s description of the friendly family atmosphere paired with dishes like mole enchiladas evokes a sense of dining in a welcoming Mexican home—making every visit feel personal and memorable. Meanwhile, Marco R’s appreciation for the abundant flavors and large portions of green salsa enchiladas highlights the restaurant’s consistent attention to taste and hospitality.

Whether you're a local seeking a comforting meal or a traveler desiring an authentic Mexican culinary encounter, La Lucha Mexican Kitchen excels at delivering robust flavors, generous portions, and a convivial environment. This is a place where every dish tells a story, and you’ll leave both satisfied and inspired to return for more.

Small little hole on the wall with great tasty tacos... OMG if you haven't stopped by to taste your missing out!!! Best 2 tacos I recommended are the Cochinita Pibil and Taco el Santo. One more thing, a little pricey but totally worth it!

Traveling out of town, and late after driving and meetings, I just needed a place to eat. I was in the mood for mom and pop Mexican, and this place checked the list. In speaking with the man managing the front, it became clear this was a family owned, or really, Mama owned and run location. I love supporting the local folks. Kuddos to her and her hard work. While looking at the menu, a local couple said the Mole was excellent, if you like Mole. Mole indeed is a subjective taste, but yes, I like Mole. So, I took their advice and ordered it. While waiting for the main, I they provided chips and salsa. Wow, that Salsa was the boom. The Salsa and chips were so good, I was kind'a let down by the Mole. To be sure, it wasn't bad. It was quite good. But damn, that was good salsa and fresh chips. On to the Mole, it was fresh, came fast, and there was an ample serving. Actually I couldn't finish it was so large. It was quite good. Yet I've had Mole elsewhere many times, and it was not a good as many I've had. So I was a little let down. Bottom line for me is would I go again? The answer is yes. But I would likely try something else. There was plenty of yummy options on the menu.

Delicious! Really flavorful burritos and great salsas. Great value as well. Got the burrito, cochinita pibil taco, taco acorazado and taco El santo but to be honest aside from the burrito I wasn't sure which one was which. Just inhaled them. I remember that the burrito was really good.
